The Long and Short about The Arrival of Semester 4

I've garnered some long and short comments/phrases/conversations from these couple of days returning to campus life.

Just when I thought the first day of school was really awesome, with almost all praises and happy faces, Tuesday was a horrendous day. No, that word is probably just an understatement.

It is very pleasant to:

- Have Kris saying this before lesson starts, "Loooking good today Shanice! "

- Receive a phone call from Shy and when you see her she goes, "OH!!!!!!!! Thiang~~~~~ "*proceeds to wanting to squeeze my cheeks* (Shy)

- Talk to your new IS classmates Loy and Jerome, and they say, "We've been looking at that since the beginning of the class (my poker-card necklace), it's very nice."

- Walk towards the LT and being told, "By the way, I love your shoes." (By Tasha, amazingly)

- Lean back on the chair during lecture and having an admirable friend, Michelle commented, "Your hair so soft" (I am a vain cow, I know.)

- Have a sarcastic stranger trying to be nice to you and said, "If I don't like you, I won't visit your blog. And your English SEEMS ok."

- Tell your new Programme Director you’re sad, and he offers to buy you a Happy Meal on Friday night for dinner. :D

- Have the Dance Instructor having faith in you and high expectations of you. "Shanice, I expect you to lie flat on the floor" *with my legs split open, stretching* (Noorin)

- Be offered a part-time job offered to me – pushcart sales girl – at Junction 8 on weekends selling CoffeeBear products. Hur.

- Know that your future IS grades are secured when you realized you have made two extremely knowledgeable new guy friends, who discussed about Genetically Modified Foods brilliantly, how Christian name came about patiently, and able to draw plants SOOO well, I’m impressed. The humour they offer is a plus point. ☺

- Have Eileen’s Girl with a One Track Mind lying at the bottom of the bag. Yay, more sex stories!an efficient way to improve my English!

- Own an hour slot on Wednesday to host your show alone on Heatwave. (11am by the way, and you can use the intranet, hor!)

- To hear that I can claim my $18 cab fare from Daddy! :D

- See how funny Daniel the Spiderman said with a strict face, “ This sem I’m going to work hard and pay attention. If not, you’re just going to DIE,” at the beginning of the day, but after lunch you see him dozing off, rocking gently from side to side, front and back, to find a comfortable spot to sleep. HAHAHAHAHA.

- Know "What would you get from a brothel?"
Hor Fun (whore fun).

- Also Know "What is the maximum speed you can reach during sex?"
68km/hr, because at 69, you’ll have to turn the other way round.

:D

It is very disturbing to:

- Have an Advertising tutor with a Ken Lim persona. It is very demanding.

- Have your classmates and a couple of schoolmates actually think that you shag (word adopted because I just read the book) regularly, and a couple actually visualize you in action? {The ones I liked, accepted. The rest, ugh.}

- Have to smell an obese guy’s greasy hair (or maybe that’s just his odour) in the morning on bus 74.

- Have cried swollen both eyes the previous night and no matter how I apply my eyeliner on the lids, they just smudge, thus wasting a lot of my preparation time.

- Need to pay $72 for two textbooks which I know that wouldn’t serve much purpose to my education because I know I won’t be reading them because they’re too content-heavy.

- Use one word to describe why MSN now works on everybody’s MAC but not mine, and I have to use fake ‘msn’ in school. GREAT.

- Hear this from Gracey, "Eh, your arms seems to grow fatter luh huh?" (I do agree with the statement, I gained several pounds. :( )

- Receive pervertic comments from your Indian friend, VK, "Shanice.....I told you not to wear this stockings already right......?"

- Wear my current neon yellow top but received these kind of feebacks.

"You should put the letters 'CWO' on your back."

"You remind me of the school's traffic police, go join them leh." (Kimo, Mag, Darrick, few others)

Updated: "Raise your hand while crossing the roads kids, for safety." (Rick)
- Realize it's very tiring for every Tuesday of this semester having lectures for 9 hours, with only one hour break in between. Hate days.

- Have your laptop battery drained very fast for the first 3 days of school. ( I barely used the battery at all during the holidays, unless I bring it to the loo with me for big business. Heh.)
------------

The Undecided:

-
A nightmare to not be able to sleep at all on the first night school reopens because the nose is blocked, and spent the whole night flipping, just trying to get some oxygen into your body.

It’s a dream to have this surreal feeling that he turned up beside your bed, trying means to put you to sleep when you can’t breathe, even though you know it’s impossible.

- I'm actually enjoying reading the book and can't wait to proceed further for more escapades, seriously thinking about the topics dwelling in the book.

Hmmm.

Lau Pa Sat, Revisited!

I headed towards Raffles Place last night, and on my way I met a secondary classmate, Rui Ying.

She sure has slimmed down and had lost her long tresses. She is still easily recognizable, along with her two younger sisters and mother, but her youngest sister looked like she had undergone a major surgery or something. Because back in those days I always go to her house after school, whether it's to chit-chat do homework or just do things together, so I see her sisters quite a lot.

It is scary how puberty has done to people, judging from changes as seen from Kam Fung (HAHAHAH!), Le Li and Rui Ying's sister. They all looked so grown-up now, despite being Secondary 3, Secondary 2 or Primary 6.
-----------

I met UFM's Fight Club Finalists, a few of them including Chun Yan, Shun Jie, Wan Fen, Dao Kai and Yan Zhi. Ken had his first outdoor broadcasting at Lau Pa Sat. The night before, he and Chee Ming had asked to go and join the fun. Since Mom also wanted me to go, I obliged. :)

You see, maybe my attempt to break the ice between them may be seen as uh, over-friendly to the point where I seemed fake or even make me look like some hardcore fan (which I disdained), and I had to eat my own fist when people just approached me and ask," Uh excuse me, who are you ah? You are whose who? " just because I sat with some of the finalists over at the VIP's table. But, for those people who know me, other than going gaga over caucasians, I am normally no fan of anything and definitely not of someone who likes to pretend. Right?

However! I am not going to deny I had a great time with a few of them, like Xin Feng(who is really the only person who talks to me), Wan Fen, Shun Jie and Dao Kai.

Top: Hosts Ah Ken, Li Mei, and Wen Hong
Bottom: Finalists Kai Xuan, Chun Yan, Yang En, Shun Jie, Xin Feng, Wan Fen and Dao Kai.

In the first place what made me not to go is precisely feeling left out and looked 'extra' in the group (which I still am!). I was oblivious to the fact, to make myself feel better.

We were each given a free $5 worth of Kopitiam card to fill the VIP seats with food, and I helped buy Ice Kachang and Dim Sum. :D

Like any other outdoor activities, there are games and activities, and free giveaways of Kopitiam cards wome worth up to $60.

I was amazed by this beer-drinking game, because all the contestants were female for the first round, and the speed they used to finished 2 big cups of Tiger Beer is amazing. Haha.

For the second round, 2 guys signed up. One of which whom looks like an underage kid, but really, is 18 years old already. =.= (You'll see what I mean.)

They were to finish the entire jug of beer, winner depending on who can finish it faster.

Both of them drank ferociously, up till the point where there is 1/3 of it left, panting, and both parties were about to give up. But that would mean no winner! The boy was persistent and ALMOST finished it.

Thus he was crowned the winner, this Malaysian boy who came with his "Un-cor, un-cor" . ( 2 Uncles).

To much amazement, the number of listeners who came all the way down to support the DJs are really seated all over Lau Pa Sat, they're really quite popular huh?

Considering the hosts' candid personalities and plain-spoken tongues, not afraid to sabotage each other, is what I laughed about all night. I can't even differ if they were just joking, all they didn't care actually.

This one here, Yang En, put up a bearable rendition of One Night in Beijing, who also got quite a number of praises from the audience, and I can tell by the look of the conceited smile that's he's very happy with his performance.

I hereby conclude that the hosts, other than Ken, prolly dislike me ever since the Semi-finals. It is obvious when they talked to other finalists but when they saw you they just decided to look away, continue enjoying their food, or uh, politely asked who you are, but when you leave didn't bother to even say "Bye bye!". :(

Ah yes, the food's at Lau Pa Sat is yummy, that's why I ate non-stop till I was bloated and had a tummy-ache. =.= Oh well! At least the meal's free. Muaahahha. :P

But. $18. Is the total cab fare that is required for me to get home. Not so free afterall huh? Darn. 0.0
----------------

In other news, yesterday morning, Mom went to Singapore General Hospital to get her mole removed. If you've seen her before, it's the huge black one on the left side of her cheek! If not, check the previous entries for her photo! Heh.

Don't be freak out by this...
Because I did, after I took this and checked the photos. The blood and the thread just remind me of those gothic dolls. *Shudders*
----------

Eileen had to cancel our outing so I was left with nothing to do at home. :(
So I decided to try out the Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 disc that I bought. Wahaha. The graphic's good and more tools to use, but the loading is S......L.......O......W.
Oh yay, I won this oversize shirt from LiME Magazine:

Baaaaaaaaaaaiii! :D

Not Lust, No Caution

In the middle of the day, like say 3pm, Fung suddenly called me yesterday to ask if I want to join Onion and him at PS. Since I have nothing to do (as usual!), wahaha, I agreed.

At 6.30pm we watched Lust, Caution (色・戒), I didn't expect it to be that lengthy though. This is one of the very few art films I've watched, but I do partly appreciate it. Why partly? Because it's really deep and there's 2 parts to it that I don't understand. These kind of movies always keeps me thinking about the meaning of life etcetera, and sometimes it's really disturbing because in the end, the answer's negative. It doesn't help when the ending's bad.

For Lust, Caution, all I could derive from it is that Love sometimes have a greater power over Friendship, Loyalty, Patriotism and one quality doesn't have to come with another. It's so deep you know, but basically this story ain't much of warfare, but mostly is a romance story.

This might disappoint you, but nope, there's no nude scenes, our local gatekeeper had slashed out 7 mins worth of the steamy scenes. The only reason I could think of why it's still NC16 is probably because Tony Leung is into SM in this movie. Haha.

-------------

Last weekend when I had lunch with Vic , he was chowing down my piece of toast and he said he made a heart shape out of that.

There, can you see it?
(Not overlooking his purposely-made-it-fade-into-ugly-bits black nails.)

While editing this photo, I became aware of the fact the next time you want to take photos of your boyfriend, unless he has a healthy complexion, you need to put in loads of effort editing the pictures, and that's troublesome. :D

Just as I thought his EMO fad was going to be over soon, he announced to me that he wants to continue the look. Sigh. The future is bleak! 0.0!
I was just thinking about the relationship while editing this picture, and I have no comments for this. Sometimes, two parties are willing to suffer and endure the unhappiness, because in my mind, I think that's called unconditional love.
------------

I think there's something awry about my eyes and memory.

For the past week, my eyes have been hurting and itching very badly lately. The signs were almost persistence, and it's not even improving when I did the eye massages that we've been learning in primary school. :( I didn't even wear contact lens that regularly anymore, so the only reason I could come up with is my facing the laptop for up to 16 hours every day for 3 weeks. I'm rubbing my eyes as I'm typing this, it's THAT uncomfortable.

I shall try these massage techniques later.

In the past few days, only after I came out of the shower, towel-dried myself do I realize I forgot to wash parts of my body.

Then, I'll have to go back in and wash it. =.=

First, it was my face.
The next day, I forgot about my upper body.
Next, it was the conditioning of my hair.

Sigh, I'm worried I might use the shampoo to cleanse my face today.

-------------
To end this, I'm giving a shout-out to all those people who love the Arts. Would anyone like to join me for the following performances/exhibitions/festival?

1) Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Musical
As the SISTIC Sypnosis puts it:
