My Favourite Shirt

I was online shopping (as usual) when a T-shirt briefly caught my eye.
Note: I do not like to wear T-shirts because they make me feel uncomfortable and uneasy about myself. I know, contrary to the popular belief of T-shirt + jeans is the most comfortable combination.

I only liked this particular one, because of the slogan across the shirt.
So I decided I shall not waste money and skipped it.
But.
After seeing the advertisment again...

I got it.
Dammit.

And I love it.

Does this slogan ring a bell? Heh.

Halloween'o8

Before Chinese New Year,  I think I should clear my Halloween pictures. (Yes, I'm almost three months late.)

Last year, I was invited to the Night Safari to go onto the Halloween Tram Ride and listen to the soundtrack created by my friend.

Dinner was my top priority, since it was Friday night and a lethargic day at school, and I haven't had a proper lunch, so Bongo Burgers it is, the only alternative to NOT spend a bomb at Night Safari.

Even so, a western burger set costs like what, $17?

If you roam around at the entrance of the Night Safari, you spot these staff all dressed up. Some were hilarious, some supposedly to spook, but only two of them succeeded in sending chills down my spine.

She was one of them. Her acting skilss were so good, I dare not go near her. Despite all the laughter and giggle around her, she managed to maintain her stance - to creep the hell out of you. First she'll signla you to come closer to her with her fingers, one by one, in the frail-old-lady kinda way. Then she'll prop over her dimsum basket and slowly open it, while her hand is placed behind you. Who the fuck knows there's another person hidden in the dimsim baskset?!

Other than that, there's also my obsession with anything "magical" and so Witches fall into the category. I took this while she turnd around, I hope the flash didn't blind her eyes. Never really played around with a DSLR before.

This witch was very lovable, she lent me her broom.

According to Fendy, these two rascals are two angmoh kids hidden inside, not sure how true it is though.

The banner was nicely done, and I see that there are new attractions at the Night Safari now - Dr. Fish Spa! But they charge so much more over there than at any other normal outlets.

This would be the time when I dropped my digital camera's pouch into the toilet bowl. Gross I know, but no choice. At the same time I also saw this group of carnivores rejoicing over the fact that they have a good supper tonight.

Queing up for the animal show was a chore, plus the plot never seems to change, it's getting a little boring over the years.. no?

I don't know what this was about.

I'm supposed to look freaky in this one.

The tram ride wasn't as cool as I thought it would be. The scarers weren't frightening, but the set-up as you ride along the set was amazing, very real. Especially when this butcher starts pulling out your intestines and the victim react violently on the table.

In fact, I was very entertained throughout the ride because there was this lady sitting behind me who was so scared, the scarers decided to gang up on her, and she just kept squealing and screaming, and covering herself up and kicking, all these while shouting, "GO AWAY!" . Hahaha.

Is this kind of shots what you call multiple exposures? How do you achieve that ah?

Just one last question before I go, would you still take a picture if the law/rule states that "No Flash Photography Allowed"? Just going in a bit on photo journalist ethics.

All photos were taken with Nikon D60.
Pictures were taken by me unless otherwise stated.

On Dogs...

It's been some time since I catch the blogging bug. Mommy and I both blame it on the new social media called Plurk. This micro-blogging gadget came in so handy for the ever-busy mommy, she can update her thoughts and whereabouts at any time of the day within 20 seconds.

Blogging on the other hand requires lots of time and effort.

Anyway, the reason why I decided to blog is because Mommy just read an two entries on Bear's blog, and she seemed very very furious. Last weekend, Bear's Pa had text Mommy regarding the accident. Mommy and I are ashamed of ourselves for not following up on this issue.

Nigel looks like he's in so much pain! I hope Nigel a speedy recovery. Please let his jaw heal by himself and no need to amputate his jaw. :'(

Sigh.

My New Body Soap

You know Dettol's TV commercials/advertisements are effective when...

you come out of the shower feeling that you're squeaky clean and  glowing green.

You feel that all, and I mean ALL bacteria/ticks/bugs/germs just bounce off your skin the moment they try to invade the "buffer" zone. Besides, you may even imagine the ticks scratching their heads in disbelief of why they can no longer leave red marks on you.  Muahaha, now we shall just wait for a soap that kill them parasites.

My only unhappiness?

I got the wrong "flavour". :(

P.S. I've decided to come with a new year resolutions list, but the boyfriend says,

Aiyah, by the time you come up with a new year resolutions list, it will no longer be "new year".

Double Ks Birthdays

It is highl unusual that I manage to find time to blog in school, during study hours. But that is only because I decided to skip the opening of the new Radio Heatwave and Ngee Ann Open House, and that I forgot to bring my notebook (thus cannot do work).

So here's two long overdue birthday entries:

Thanks for inviting me to your 21st birthday Kristle! I, unlike somebody, would gladly wish you  "Happy Birthday!" and I hope you like your Vera Wang perfume.

Honestly, I don't quite understand why some couples always "Buy 1 get 1 free". I mean, if you're not invited, then just be independent and stay home. Let your partner go. Why attend and then sulk or whatever not to dampen other peoples' spirits? Just because you're not happy doesn't mean other people is not entitled to it, you know?

On a happier note though, we had yummy cupcakes (handcrafted by Wen Tong)...

Loads of cleavage to look at ...

-(you'll understand why when I move on to the next birthday girl)-

Great company (albeit I went there alone)...

And of course, booze.

I was really late for the party because I stayed on in school to blog and had to hitch a ride over to Lamont's place. Firstly, I must comment that Lamont's living area is damn bloody nice! Lights nicely dimmed, wooden flooring and pool area everywhere. I am envious.

Lamont introduced me as "someone who's not important" to his two best friends. I can understand why they are good friends. One looks young almost like he just completed PSLE, and the two others just behave like children. :D

I admit I was being lazy and refuse to barbecue food that night. I was bugging Hong Jun, Shy and Nadia to get me some salmon. Heh.

But unfortunately this thief came along and stole my salmon sticks. The funny thing is, when I chase after her to get my fish back, she walked into a pillar, which was really embarrassing. :P

Many were invited, playing Indian poker and drinking Vodka, while I sat coolly in a corner...talking on the phone. 0,0"

These two still wouldn't take alcohol, and they left as soon as the cake-cutting session was over!

During the cake-cutting, something unhappy occurred and Lamont being hot-headed and all, confronted the situation, which wasn't exactly a smart move. But no worries, Kristle was still very happy!

Because the party had to end early, about 12 of us decided to head over to Holland Village for a drink. Booze was one-for-one so each of us got a bottle, except for Lamont and Hong Jun. We had a brilliant idea of playing "I've never..." and I think I shouldn't have been so truthful after all. :(

Now I feel invaded. Hahahaha. Sine then, I've been hooked to the game. At every event, I would yell "let's play I've never!", over and over.

Moving on to the next birthday party. Now this one was supposed to be a surprise. But due to my negligence she found out about her surprise party.

So clever I was, I came up with a decoy plan, to let her assume the party was on a wrong certain date. Heh. And it worked! She walked in, all stunned and speechless. Muaha.
P.S. I know it's hard to focus on the candle blowing...

Life is unfair huh? Another one with friends baking cupcakes for her! Pretty ones at that! :( *sulks and jealous* These were made by Kristie and Shyanne.

I'm not sure if it was a mistake to bring QQ there, because most of the time she was tied onto something, if let loose she'll run away and I was worried she might eat the wrong "foods".

The girly group photo was very very fun, because we did multiple silly shots. The humongous card was made by Marvin to his dearest! So sweet.

The following photos are Couples Compilation:

I like the way the photo turns out for Darrick and Mag.  And oh, Mag appeared in Ice Angel's blog for one of her portrait photo shoot last month!

Olivia and Daniel. I think I take very nice pictures of couples, no?

Eil and Vandy. Her tube dress is dropping. Vandalin brought a bottle of bubbly red and that was when I got addicted to it! Light and yummy!

Kimmo and Marvin (who was playing sports most of the time during the partay, thus the wet sport, or was it?) .

Now, where's my other half?!

Kristie the organiser, sponsor and host. Heh. That's not QQ, that's Shannon her MS.

No idea who got the packet of masks but I saw it lying around and nobody's using it so... just open it and play! Here, we were supposed to look sophisticated.

QQ looks super adorable in the mask. Eil, QQ has bigger eyes than yours!
*hears "KNN! CB!" in the background*

Charmaine and the Polaroid card. Marvin brought the cam and we had lovely keepsakes! ^^

Pop the champagne! And why the weird expression? :d

Daniel and one of his "Nan-da-yo!" moment, over spilled curry.

Mag looks obscene in this one. But QQ's expression is soooo.....lovable!

Okay, my head's spinning again. About time to have my project meeting soon. Sigh.

What HAPPY New Year?!

Birthday Gratitude

I hope you didn't miss the Christmas countdown like I did, nor how I missed my New Year's countdown as well. No, this is not an unhappy thing. In fact, it was the exact opposite. Over the past weekend I had so much fun and intoxication, I have neglected my virtual "daily" log, dammit.

Knowing that my 19th birthday has since passed 6 days ago and I have yet to express my gratitude, I feel guilty.

Firstly, on the 27th and 28th when I looked at my gmail, I got a shock:

I think it's the first time ever in a single night I received so many emails (with no spam) and they are filled with well wishes! But, it didn't feel very nice because many who wished me were either acquaintances (hello, I don't think you really bother about my happiness and my birthday) or strangers (worse). Nevertheless, those friends whom I haven't been able to catch up with, thank you all. :)

No really, I don't think my sis look awful here, shows that we're homely people what!

Secondly, I wanna thank these people mentioned for the text messages (albeit some were two days late):
  • Dwayne
  • Wai
  • Eil
  • Kimmo
  • Emerson
  • Zhen Han
  • Don
  • Jia Ling
  • Kai Yuan
  • Luther
  • Zhao Rong
  • Jun Ji
  • Liang Yu
  • Alvin Ee
  • Anonymous "Happy Birthday! Hope you haven lost your phone again n dunno who i am ah. Heh heh" - Who are you??! Hahaha.
  • Gibbie
  • Ruok aka Vincent aka Rapist
  • Onion
  • Sebastian
  • Kien Hoe
  • TK
  • Dishan
  • James O'Brien
  • Jian Wei
  • Victor Ho
  • Kumz
  • Yong Xuan
  • Samuel
You all make a gleeful Thiang on the 28th, while I was frolicking at the beach.

Thirdly, thank you to those who greeted me, shook hands with me and wished me happiness face-to-face. These include:
  • VK
  • Derrick
  • Bjorn
As you can see, I am very good at remembering these types of details. Muahaha.

Fourthly, to those who presented me with presents!
  • Kam Fung
  • Cai Ying
  • Kimmo/Shy/Marvin
  • TK
  • Sis
  • Dad
  • Mom
Big hugs!

Fifth, I wanna give a shout out to Dwayne, and thank him for clearing one of the toughest wish on my list.

In my final list, he cleared the cantonese birthday song. He called shortly after the clock strikes twelve and over the phone and gathered loads of courage to do that. I must admit I was deeply impressed and touched. Thank you! I hope you find peace and happiness soon (you know what I mean).

I have found a shop that sells dog carriers that seems pretty promising to me! And I think I will get it, when I feel "rich" once in a while. Heh.

Point number 10 seems a little awkward. That's because I did receive something "handmade" from my dearest, as well as a card from my best friend from secondary school! I love these awesome people! Thank you Ming Le, I like your present!

In order to uh, spread my joy, I've decided to bombard this post with loads of photos of myself and each of them named "Rapturous!". Heh heh. Let me off the hook this time okay?

Despite the fact that the number of presents decrease, I have this strong incling that those who gave them to me this year, mean so much more.

This year, my birthday was a quiet affair, no deliberate "oi, today is my birthday leh!" kind of announcements, nor "buy me presents leh" proclamations. I just smiled while enjoying the fantastic weather at Tanjong beach.

This little brat probably enjoyed herself a lot more than I did! ^^

What surprise me though, was the fact that I actually agreed to go to the beach, when I dislike the beach (generally).

Perhaps due to my Sept trip to the island that made me gradually fall in love with the sand and water (still no sun please thank you). Which reminds me that I haven't blogged about it... ... *avoids*

What's new to me was that I actually spent my day with a few other people whom I do not know, and helped them take photos (I did not appear in any of it afterwards either).

I don't have any negative feelings, but felt serene, calm and contented. No doubt I'm a sore loser (generally).

If I told you every year during my cake-cutting moment I  am very nervous, so much so I just wanna get it over and done with quickly and at the same time my mind is a blank piece of paper so whenever they ask me to a make a wish I actually didn't make any even if I've already tried to force my brain to come up with one so I told a white lie and said I've "made a wish", would you believe me?

Last but not least, wishing all a very fruitful year 2009 ahead!
*skips off to examine my new scheduler, squeals in elation*
